If design is your thing, AMC's National Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics can get you designing surfboards, racing yachts, fishing boats or super tankers as a naval architect. The Ocean Engineering course could see you designing oil platforms, offshore wind farms – with some of the biggest structures in the world – and with Marine and Offshore Systems, you'll be designing the systems that keep everything running.

If it's fishing and the water that has you hooked, AMC's National Centre for Marine Conservation and Resource Sustainability can land you a career in areas including fisheries management, aquaculture and marine conservation. You could be working on lakes, rivers or oceans in some of the most interesting and important careers around.

AMC's main campus is in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. "Launnie", as it’s known to the locals, is a thriving city with affordable housing, great clubs and bars, loads of outdoor recreation options and, of course, plenty of boating opportunities. There's a second campus at Beauty Point where most of AMC's seafaring and short courses are taught and a third campus at Bell Bay where all the firefighting training happens.

An institute of the University of Tasmania, AMC is known world-wide. From the 35m training vessel Bluefin, to a 100m towing tank, it has some of the best training facilities in the world.
